Choose the beach and the way back
Which Santorini beach should you visit by bus?
Choose the beach that fits the outing
Compare Kamari’s promenade, Perissa’s long dark-sand shore, Vlychada’s sculpted cliffs and Monolithos near the airport. Each has its own Fira corridor. Check the return and source notes before choosing; Vlychada’s official fare sources disagree.
Four different shorelines have maintained bus corridors from Fira. Use this comparison to choose; open the destination guide for the full place and bus details.
01
Four beaches, four separate corridor checks
The corridor and fare values below come from maintained bus data. Beach character is a choice aid, not a ranking; no row promises a frequency or a connection.
| Beach | Why choose it? | Published corridor | Ordinary fare and source state | What to check | Return planning | Plan or read more |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Read the Kamari beach and bus guide | Dark volcanic sand with a seafront promenade: consider it when beach time and a stroll belong in the same outing. | Fira ↔ Kamari | €2.20Listed ordinary fareThe listed ordinary fare applies to the published Fira corridor; check the current source before travel. | Read each direction separately. A published corridor does not establish how often a bus runs on your date. | Check departures from Kamari before choosing when to leave the promenade. | Plan Fira to Kamari |
| Read the Perissa beach and bus guide | A long dark-sand shore beside Perivolos, on the other side of Mesa Vouno from Kamari. | Fira ↔ Perissa | €2.70Listed ordinary fareThe official fare listing groups Perissa with Perivolos; that label does not establish individual stops. | Use the Perissa corridor, not the Kamari route. The maintained timetable includes annotations that this guide does not interpret. | Check the return from Perissa before planning an evening by the sea. | Plan Fira to Perissa |
| Read the Vlychada bus guide and source conflict | Pale, wind-sculpted cliffs beside dark sand and a small marina: a different setting from the larger beach resorts. | Fira ↔ Vlychada | €2.70 / €2.80Official fare sources disagreeThe official fare page and timetable PDF disagree. Both sourced amounts are shown; neither is selected as definitive. Confirm the current fare with KTEL. | The corridor is published, but the maintained departure sources also differ. Confirm the current service before relying on a return. | Settle the return plan before leaving Fira, alongside the fare check. | Plan Fira to Vlychada |
| Read the Monolithos beach and bus guide | A beach near the airport with dark sand and tamarisk shade: consider it for a less resort-focused outing. | Fira ↔ Monolithos | €2.20Listed ordinary fareThe official fare listing groups Monolithos with Exo Gonia; this is not a published stop sequence. | The maintained web timetable and PDF disagree on some departures. Check the current return information instead of assuming the later time applies. | Check Monolithos’s own return list. Proximity to the airport does not establish an airport bus connection. | Plan Fira to Monolithos |
The same four choices in words
- Kamari: a published Fira corridor with a listed ordinary fare.
- Perissa: a separate published Fira corridor; it is not the Kamari route.
- Vlychada: a published corridor whose two official fare sources disagree.
- Monolithos: a published Fira corridor with its own return departures to check.
02
Make the return part of the beach choice
- Open the destination’s current departure information before leaving Fira.
- Choose a return that fits your plans; do not infer a frequency from a few published times.
- If you need another bus after Fira, check that departure separately and leave your own margin.
03
A beach comparison is not a connection plan
These are separate Fira corridors, not a beach-hopping bus itinerary. The checked sources do not provide a complete stop-by-stop route or guarantee connections. Confirm your boarding point and current return service, especially where sources disagree.

Keep the beach plan on your phone
Santorini Bus keeps published times available offline after installation, so you can consult them away from Wi-Fi. The independent app is available in English, German, French and Portuguese. Recheck the official return departures before setting out; offline information does not remove source conflicts or guarantee a connection.
