Worth your time
Imerovigli sits at the top of the caldera arc, a quieter, more residential stretch of white lanes above the deepest part of the drowned crater. Its signature is Skaros Rock: a headland fortress that once held the island’s medieval capital, now a stark promontory you can walk out onto. With neighbouring Firostefani it forms one published bus corridor from Fira.

Imerovigli has the views without the crowds — its terraces face the same sunset as Oia’s castle, with a fraction of the audience.
The small blue-roofed chapel on the way to Skaros is one of the caldera’s most striking buildings, framed against the void below.
